Jackson is 3 months!

Jackson turned 3 months on July 30th! I can hardly believe how fast the time has gone & how big he is! He is no longer my little baby! :( I weighed him on our scale at home & he is 16lbs at 3 months! He has more than doubled his birth weight!!!! So I don't really need to state that he is eating well. He eats so well that mommy's sleep suffers. ;) He has gone 3-4 hrs without nursing but often times he wants to nurse after just 2 hrs.

Jackson can hold his head up really well now & sit up when propped up against something. He loves to smile & laugh. As you can see in the pics, he has found his hands & likes to knaw on them. He lost all his hair to craddle cap but I'm hoping all the new hair I see growing will come in fast!

Sleeping isn't ideal- he sleeps pretty well but most of it is in the swing & the rest is in the bed with me! I tried to get him to sleep in the crib shortly after he turned 3 months & he slept there for 2 hours but then would not go back to sleep so he went back into his swing. One of these days we'll transition!

Isabella still loves being a big sister & always asks me to pump so she can feed him out of a bottle. But then when I finally do she gets tired of feeding him after about a minute. (And in that minute Jackson isn't getting much milk b/c she does not have very good aim with the bottle!) But she is full of smiles & kisses for him & is anxious for the day he can play with her. Won't be long...

Isabella took swimming classes this summer. A friend told us about a lady (Jennifer) who teaches swim classes out of her home pool. Isabella was a couple weeks shy of three but Jennifer let her be in her level one class (beginner class) instead of the mommy & me class. She teaches the class without floaties in the shallow end of her pool. Isabella was not tall enough to touch the ground in the pool so she stayed on the stairs when waiting for her turn to practice the swimming technique. At first I wondered if Isabella would want to come back because she was quite nervous & the teacher was pushing her to do things that I knew she wouldn't have done for us. But she did them & without tears! She was also in this class with kids up to age 5 or 6! We were so proud of what a big girl she was in the class! (Mommy was a bit sad, but happy at the same time!) When we got home the first night Isabella was very excited about the class & was anxious to go back the next day. We'll definately do these classes next summer!

Isabella's 3rd Birthday - A Fairy Princess Party

Isabella had so much fun at her fairy princess party. A real fairy princess visited her on her special day. She played games, went on a scavenger hunt, and then painted faces. What fun! Grandma made a really special fairy princess cake that was a huge hit! Jackson slept through the whole party but made a late appearance in his "little prince" shirt. My baby girl is 3!

Isabella & her little brother...

Here are some shots of Isabella and her brother.

Jackson was actually asleep on the changing table & we had to take a picture... with proud sister standing by!

If she holds still long enough, Jackson will just watch her & smile. Her holding still doesn't happen too often though!

Isabella is quite sweet with Jackson. She really loves giving him kisses & wants to play with him so badly! It'll be so fun when he can participate more!

4th of July weekend with Granny & Grandpa Abla

We took a road trip over the July 4th weekend to Camden, AR to visit Granny & Grandpa Abla. This was Jackson's first long trip... a 6-6.5hr trip made into a 8 hour trip with our stops to feed him. Not too bad. And thankfully he does pretty well in the car- sleeping when tired & mostly just crying when it was time to eat.

Isabella had a blast as usual. She loves playing out on the porch at Granny & Grandpas & this time she watered Granny's plants! She dipped her watering can into the big bucket of water Granny was nice enough to supply for her & watered all the plants surrounding the porch... many times over! (Hopefully all are still living & did not drown!)

We had a fun time & Jackson enjoyed meeting his grandparents for the first time. (I think they liked him too!)

Isabella enjoys sitting on the mower...

These are the only pics we got of the 4th of July attire... Jackson had a blow out (darn disposibles!) after this picture & Isabella just wasn't in her dress for very long. I wished we'd gotten one of them together but I'm horrible about taking pictures & missed the opportunity. Ah well... will try to do better!

Jackson is 2 months old!

Well, a little late on this update but better late than never... or so some say! He is now almost 11 weeks but ah well!

Jackson is getting so big! At 8 weeks he weighed 12 lbs... so that is a 5lb gain from birth!!! He is definately not missing any feedings! :) He is a very happy baby & usually only cries if he is hungry or tired. Otherwise he is smiling & cooing which is so fun. He really loves to look at peoples faces & to be talked to. He is holding his head up really well and just bobs a little bit. We're just about ready to start wearing 3-6 mo clothes & have already grown out of some 0-3. We're dealing with a good case of the craddle cap but of course it doesn't bother him... just mommy & daddy!

6 weeks

7 weeks... just hangin' out & smilin'!

9 weeks... this is where I sleep most of the time. Hey, it's comfy!

8 weeks- aren't I a cutie?

sleeping on Mommy... ahhhhh....

Hagin out with my big sis in the morning
