Documentary Recomendation

Just finished watching the documentary, Food, Inc.  I've been wanting to watch it for a while but just made a point to watch it tonight (netflix has it on their view now where you can watch it online).  I highly recommend anyone who eats food watch this documentary.  So many of us turn a blind eye to what we are eating & figure what we don't know can't hurt us.  Well that is so very far from the truth.  So take an hour and 30 minutes & watch the film to learn a bit more about the food system in our country.

A phone conversation of a 3 year old

In case you can't understand what Isabella is saying here are a few quotes:

"Can me & my Jackson come over?"

"When I get bigger I will be able to drive all by myself with Jackson."

"He's going to be with me when I get bigger."

"When I get bigger I'm going to be nice to him."

"Cameron do you hear me? Do you hear me Cameron?"

"I was just eating a crumb of apple"

"Apples are very good for you. Have you ever tried a apple Cameron"

"Have you ever tried a pear?"

"You should try one, you might like one."

"You haven't tried pear... and you need to try apple. You haven't tried apple. They taste good. I tried them before & they taste good and now I like them. So you should try them."

Happy Easter!

We all had a really nice Easter! Here are Isabella & Jackson checking out their easter goodies, Jackson asleep in the car after an exhausting easter dinner (where he ate & ate & ate lots & lots of asparagus & other veggies!) & Isabella in her easter dress by our pretty tulips. (couldn't get her to give me a good smile w/ her eyes open!)

For Easter I made another recipe from the Healthy Bread in 5 minutes a day... whole wheat cinamon crescent rolls w/ honey cream cheese icing. They turned out yummy!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Isabella had lots of fun coloring eggs again this year. She had a princess decorating kit so she got to put lots of princess stickers, crowns, & castle egg holders on her freshly colored eggs. Jackson didn't do any this year, but he was really interested them!

Jackson without his bath seat!

I decided to take out Jackson's bath seat & see how he did roaming free in the tub... & he did great & loves it! It's fun to watch him explore the whole tub. One of the funnier things about this transition is watching him attempt to chew on the drain plug! He tried 3x to get to it but stopped each time when his face touched the water. You could tell he really thought it looked like a good thing to chew on! Ha!

Jackson is 11 months!

Oh my goodness... I think my baby boy is turning into a little BIG boy! It's so fun to watch them grow. :)

This month Jackson has pushed through 4 more teeth (for a total of 8) and he's eating lots & lots of different foods (nearly everything we're eating). It's so much easier than fixing something different for him & I'm really looking forward to the day he eats everything we do. He continues to love to eat all things green & gets excited when he sees a banana & an orange.

Jackson now fully understands what "no" means & will even shake his head no! He has said, "nononono" a couple times too! He can also nod his head yes but doesn't do that as much (hmmmm... maybe there is a reason for that!).

He has gotten really fast with his crawl & is all over the place! He can pull up and stand for awhile but has yet to start cruising. He loves to swing on the swing set & really enjoys being outside.

As you can see in the pictures, he loves his sister & she loves him. She isn't always super nice to him & he sometimes has had enough of her... but what can I say? They are siblings!! It is sweet to see Jackson get excited to see his sister in the morning & Isabella eager to go see Jackson after a nap.

We are gearing up for the 1st birthday & party... stay tuned!
