What can I say? I'm a lucky mom! I had a really nice mother's day. I got to sleep in (which isn't out of the ordinary on the weekends which is another reason I'm lucky... thanks to Mike!), didn't have to cook (Mike made lunch & we ordered out for dinner), & I got some nice gifts (including a pressure cooker which I am loving! The speed I can cook beans, grains, & meats with is amazing!). Unfortunately Isabella was sick & had a fever so we stayed at home rather than eating out for dinner. But we still had a nice day together.

Final 1 year update!
It is amazing how much Jackson seemed to grow and develop in his 11th month! This month he has started pulling up on everything & really cruising around (walking while holding onto furniture). He has even transferred from one piece to another a couple of times. Some of his other motor development include playing peek-a-boo (where he covers his eyes... or his face with his hands & he then says "peak") and trying to feed himself with a spoon. He really has gotten into copying things we do- putting a sock or shoe to his foot, putting a brush/comb to his hair, oh & you can't forget the hair clip he tried to put in his hair. ;)
He is making lots of sounds & says a couple words (or sounds that mean words!). We are looking forward to hearing more of what he has to say!
Jackson continues to love to read books and this month for a period of time he insisted on being the one to hold the book we were reading. Anytime I would try to hold it he would cry. Thankfully this didn't last because it is hard to turn the pages that way!
One night this past month Jackson slept through the night!!! It was so nice. But of course it didn't last. He continues to wake 2x a night nearly every night, even though I've reduced his feedings to just 1x a night. Pretty soon it will be time to discontinue feeding at night... I wonder if he'll still wake up then?
At Jackson's one year well baby visit he weighed 22lb 10oz which is about the 50th percentile and his height is 30.25" which is between the 50th & 75th percentile. So interesting how he is pretty average in size and his big sister has nearly always been in the 90-95th percentile!
Jackson & Isabella continue to have a on again off again relationship. Sometimes they have a blast together, other times Jackson is bothering Isabella or Isabella is bothering Jackson (and we get to play referee!). It sure is sweet to see them enjoying one another though when it does happen! Isabella loves to make Jackson laugh and Jackson loves to follow her around. He misses her when she is not around & they are both excited to reunite. We look forward to watching their relationship grow!
We cannot wait to see what the next year holds!

Jackson's first Birthday Party!!
It was lots of fun to plan & to make all the fun star & "J" decorations. We used the colors teal & brown since they are his nursery colors. We had star cookie favors w/ "J" & "1" cut out in them. The favor label said, "Thanks for joining in the fun as Jackson Levi turned one!" Grandma made carrot cake cupcakes with stars & "J"s cut out of fondant for the cupcake topper. I did the Jones bottles again for Jackson with the customized label (his picture with "Jackson's 1st Birthday" & the date) & used these to tie the baloons for centerpiece decorations. Aunt Jennifer made a cute onesie for Jackson that had a star & a "J" on the faux tie along with a "1" on the back. We did the photo banner with his years worth of pictures & other star & "J" hanging decorations. Isabella helped paint some paper mache stars that we hung up on the wall & 2 star lids that we put "J"s on for decorations. She was excited to be a part of his birthday prep!
We celebrated the big day with friends & family.
Jackson was intrigued by the happy birthday song... I don't think he'd ever heard so many people sing at once! He enjoyed eating his cupcake once he figured out what he was suppose to do with it! At first he just turned it around in his hands & kept putting it down when he felt the icing on his hands. He ended up eating pretty much all of the cupcake. :)
Jackson received a lot of cool & fun gifts from our lovely friends & family. We are excited to have some boy toys (cars, trucks, baseball game, etc) so Jackson won't have to play with princesses & dolls (not that there is anything wrong with that!). He also received some cute clothes!
As you can see, his birthday party was a huge success! We all had lots of fun celebrating Jackson's first year!

Happy 1st Birthday, Jackson!!!
It is hard to believe a year has passed since having my little baby boy. In some ways it seems like it were just yesterday... but on the other hand it feels like Jackson has been a part of our family forever & we have made so many memories with him! I will never forget how awesome it was to have our little boy in the comforts of our own home... such wonderful memories of meeting him for the first time!
My how he has changed over the course of a year! When he was born he weighed 7lb 10oz... on his year check-up he weighed 22lb & 10oz! He was 20" at birth & now he is 30.25". He needed so much attention as a wee little one & now he is so independent (& getting into everything!) & fast to get around by himself.
We are so thankful to have such a sweet little boy. Happy birthday cutie pie!
Jackson's first hair cut!
Jackson got his very first hair cut just a few days before his birthday. He was such a big boy sitting up in the chair & sat really still.... for the first minute or two, then he started to wiggle around & made Tina work a little harder. ;) Mike was glad to have Jackson no longer look like a hippy (his words, not mine). We left the hair around his ears a little longer as to not have such a clean cut look...
